Season of Creation Group and Events

The Season is Creation is a time to renew our relationship with the Creator and with creation, through celebration, conversion and commitment together. As people of faith, we have long been called to recognize our connection to God’s created order. In addition to the sermon series in September, you can go deeper into this season through a group study, hike, and pet blessing.

Painting the Stars: Science, Religion, and an Evolving Faith: A seven-session video-based study on the evolving universe and the awe-inspiring scope of Creation, the study explores the promise of evolutionary Christian spirituality. Featuring over a dozen leading theologians and progressive thinkers, diverse voices discuss an evolving universe and the awe-inspiring scope of creation. You have two options for joining in the conversation: Sunday, 6:00-7:30 pm, August 11 – Sept. 29, Zoom only. Monday, 6:00-7:30 pm, in-person only. (We’ll take Labor Day weekend off!) Check out a PREVIEW HERE. Sign up at the Ask Me Desk or email: leslie@fumcloveland.com.

Season of Creation hike: Join Pastor Leslie September 14 on a hike to simply enjoy creation together…and a picnic in the mountains. Morning start time and location TBD. Sign up at the Ask-Me desk or email: leslie@fumcloveland.com.

Pet Blessing: Our pets are a special gift of creation from God to us. On October 6 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, bring your furry, scaley, shell-y, pawed, hooved or clawed family members to FUMC for a special pet blessing. Not able to transport your pet? Your pastors make house calls! Contact Pastor Leslie to request a home visit.
